What is Discipleship Training School (DTS)?

Discipleship Training School (DTS) is a core program of University of the Nations (UofN).

It’s Youth With A Mission’s (YWAM) five-month introductory training program, that is offered in over 600 locations around the world.

It’s a full-time program of learning who God made you to be, and what He wants you to do, all in a community environment.

Second Level Schools

Graduating in the Discipleship Training School (DTS) qualifies you to attend Second Level Schools at any of Youth With A Mission‘s (YWAM) 300+ training locations scattered in over 150 nations under University of the Nations (UofN).

YWAM schools are committed to ongoing discipleship as well as equipping students with the skills necessary to be effective in their purpose.

SCHOOL OF EVANGELISM

This course embraces both the message and the methods of evangelism. Its primary purpose is helping the student gain a deeper understanding of the character of God, including His love for the lost. Topics include: An overview of biblical and historical perspectives on missions, people group thinking, cross-cultural communication, pioneer missions, missions and the local Church, the message of the Gospel, revival, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, ministering in the Spirit, personal renewal, spiritual warfare, and evangelism. Students will not be able to use credit for this course in a degree program until both lecture and field assignments are satisfactorily completed.

Word by Heart

Word By Heart helps you know Jesus personally and share Him in a unique way by using the exact words of the gospels.

The goal of Word By Heart is to be able to retell the story of Jesus Christ in the way that his early friends did. Imagine them retelling the stories of his exceptional life, teaching, death, and resurrection.

DISCIPLESHIP BIBLE SCHOOL

 In this course students are equipped with tools for continual development of personal Bible study. Throughout the course students will grow in their understanding of the nature and character of God, how to live in and contribute to community, the importance of covenants, how to communicate God’s redemptive plan, how to use the Word in a ministry context, and discovering the “big picture” of Bible (overview).

Bible School for the Nations

The BSN Core course is a book-by-book chronological adventure through the Bible. It focuses on knowing God, His message, and His Redeeming Story. We use creative methods of story telling, art and class participation. The course also includes an intense week of learning Bible Study tools and application. Students learn to prepare messages with an application of Biblical Principles to transform
nations.

This course has a required 3-6 week Seminar that is given at the beginning or end
of the course. This course meets the UofN Core Curriculum requirement for Bible.

School of Biblical Christian Worldview

This course takes a historical look at the prevailing philosophies and ideologies that lie beneath the social and political issues of present day societies.

It encourages students to become responsible Christians in society, and to exercise positive influence wherever they work and serve. Students delve into topics such as the meaning and components of a worldview and how to apply biblical Christian thinking to contemporary issues.

Chronological Bible Core Course

This course is designed for people that are hungry for the Word of God. We will learn how to study the Bible in an Inductive way. Leave behind your preconceived ideas of the scripture, and allow God to speak the true content of His word! This three-month course offers a unique opportunity to dive into God’s Word chronologically. Learn a creative and diverse method of reading, interpreting, applying and proclaiming the Scriptures and how to view the Bible in its historical and cultural context.
