OneThing Philippines Conference 2017
OneThing Philippines is a movement under Cebu House of Prayer. Since 2014, we have been giving platforms to hundreds of young people from different denominations to respond to the prayer movement, justice issues and missions.
It is our vision to raise up a generation set apart for Jesus. With that being said, we invite you to join us this year on MAY 18-20. This 3-day conference will definitely change your life as it did to the participants you can watch on the videos below.

The OneThing Philippines Conference last May 26-28 has definitely changed my life forever.
My back story as to how I got to this conference in the first place was clearly God orchestrated. I come from a local conservative Chinese church whose main focus is cultivating its body on spiritual life and growth, so we are not much exposed to charismatic practices or should I say, the gifts of the Spirit. God has been so intentional with me when He used a new friend of mine (at that time) from another church to invite me to this conference. At first I was speculating whether or not I should go because I might not be able to make it for the 2nd and 3rd day of the conference due to other plans I made beforehand. But by God’s grace I was able to go on the first day only to find out on that very day that our outing was moved to another date and I was able to be fully present for all 3 days of the conference.
What made this conference so life altering for me is how it not only exposed me to countless altar calls where the Holy Spirit has been speaking to me intentionally every chance He got, but also because I got exposed to YWAM (Youth With A Mission), which later God revealed to be His calling for me. It’s One Thing to meet the real Jesus and be completely changed, and it’s another to actually be transitioned to another season of my Christian life where I got to know my clear purpose in God’s Kingdom. Through the OneThing Conference God gave me a new fire that is blazing now more than ever before. I have only been a Born Again Christian for 2 years but already my joy from the Lord is unspeakable. And the adventures that await for me, starting from this OneThing Conference has been nothing short of amazing. I started sharing Jesus unembarassingly to strangers; I joined the spring YWAM pursuit team on their visit to the local jail; I volunteered for a portion of this year’s Impact World Tour and got to experience how it felt like to serve Jesus unswervingly; and I dropped everything to obey God’s call for me to join YWAM’s Pursuit Discipleship Training School this fall for the sole purpose of pursuing my One Thing—Jesus.
All this purpose, motivation, and fire started out because I joined the OneThing Conference. To God be the glory!

YWAM Cebu Update – July 2016
Highlights:
New Dormitory Building:
After almost a year of construction, our new dormitory building is finished!
A Leadership Development Course (LDC) was hosted in the building in April.
Currently, visiting outreach teams are utilizing the dormitory rooms and the June DTS is enjoying their lectures in the new lecture room. We praise God for His faithfulness and provision in bringing this work unto completion.
October DTS Outreach
The “Forerunner” October DTS spent their Major Outreach from January to March in northern Cebu and Leyte. The team spent the majority of their outreach in Bogo City, Cebu to take part in the work of pioneering a YWAM base in Bogo. The team partnered with local churches and ministries to reach the cities surrounding Bogo: Medellin and Daan Bantayan in northern Cebu, as well as Palompon in Leyte.
Jesus Fiesta
Last December 3, 2015, we celebrated our annual Jesus Fiesta in Talisay City.
Jesus Fiesta is held annually in December to celebrate God’s faithfulness in our eight different Children’s Ministry locations.
YWAM Cebu once again partnered with Bethesda Bedok Tampines Church (BBTC) from Singapore as well as other organizations to serve the 1000+ children and parents that attended.
DVBS
In May, YWAM Cebu held our annual week-long Vacation Bible Schools for four of our Children’s Ministry locations.
Staff and students learned about the “Fruits of the Spirit” and enjoyed the opportunity for deeper discipleship and fellowship with the children and their families.
DTW
Last May 30 to June 4, 16 students took part in a Discipleship Training Week at YWAM Cebu.
During the week, the students enjoyed lectures from YWAM Philippines leaders and staff and applied their learning during an afternoon of outreach at the end of the week. The students came from different parts of the Philippines as well as different nations, encountered God during the DTW, and left as changed individuals!
Two students from the DTW are now students of the current June DTS.
June DTS
Begins On June 20, 2016, 12 students and 4 staff began a new life-changing journey! Our June DTS will run from June to December 2016.
Prayer Points:
- Please pray for more staff to work in our kids ministry, hospital visit and prison ministry.
- Please also pray for more staff for our upcoming October DTS that will start this Oct 3 and for the base to help us with the logistics and to host teams as there are many teams coming to the base.
- Please pray for long term staff and more girls staff.
- Please pray also for staff to our organic farm in San Fernando.
Opportunities for Involvement:
- Volunteer at the YWAM Talisay Base! Come and join us at YWAM Cebu and you can help serve in the kitchen, as part of the maintenance crew or hospitality crew. We are always looking for willing hands to help us with all that we do.

Forerunner Internship
The internship of the Cebu House of Prayer is a five-week program consecrated to go deeper into God. Next to spending several hours a day in the prayer room, you learn about intimacy with God, the urgency to prepare for His second coming as well as the lifestyle of prayer and fasting to pursue God wholeheartedly.

“I would like to share to you a couple of my highlights during my Internship last year at Cebu House of Prayer. Before I applied, I already had a desire in my heart to dig deeper into God’s Word and to strengthen my commitment in fasting but I didn’t have enough time or I didn’t see it as that important, or I just didn’t know how. I admit that I could be very casual with my prayers sometimes and it plays to be the last resort when it doesn’t work that way in God’s kingdom. All people can pray but not all can fast. Or worst, people don’t like to pray so how much more with fasting? It is the most neglected part of most believers when it should be the normal lifestyle of being a Christian. I am very thankful that God heard my desire to know Him more and to strengthen my walk with Him. He paved the way for me and I was accepted as a Forerunner Intern at Cebu House of Prayer and I’ve seen my growth drastically. Even my parents and those people surrounding me have noticed it. God changed my life and I’m thankful for the staff who did their best to help us through our new season. We were taught on how to meditate effectively and we have certain scriptures in a day and we journal everything that the Holy Spirit reveals to us. Through that, our skill in hearing God’s voice was developed all the more. Everybody in the prayer room values a fasted lifestyle because even Jesus Himself fasted. He is the greatest example. It was only in the prayer room that I learned the different types of fasting, the do’s and dont’s – and it’s not a diet. And I really respect and follow these people because they’ve done it for so many years, doing it from 1-40 days of fasting. And remember I already have that desire to grow in that area and they have helped me a lot. I enjoy fasting now more than ever! It is something that I really look forward to because it teaches you to be humble and requires your willingness to receive more of the Spirit. God is raising up Mary’s in this season who would just sit at Jesus’ feet listening to Him, Anna’s who would stay in the temple fasting and praying, David’s who are worshiping warriors and John the Baptists who will be the voice of this generation to prepare the way of the Lord. If God is calling you to be like Mary, Anna, David or John the Baptist, I encourage you to pray about our internship this coming September and be a part of us. This is not our ministry or movement, but this is what God is trumpeting to all the churches to partner with Him. We have a lot of scheduled activities in a day during our internship so you will never get bored. You will enjoy it very much, I assure you. Different speakers are also invited and one topic that still re-echoes to my soul is our Bridal Identity. We are not only the sons and daughters of Christ but we are also His bride and He will come to marry us soon. I enjoyed the book of Song of Solomon all the more and understood that it talks about our walk as the Bride of Christ. Again, if you want to be trained and equipped with God’s word all the more.
