The combined pastors ministerial goal for this year in this island is to see 100,000 new disciples – we are part of that – making a difference in Cebu. Challenging the church to move away from apathy and complacency and join those reaching out and discipling this nation.

Monday is the start of the 4-week evangelistic tour of Northern Cebu.  Just in the coming week we will have many evangelistic outreaches in the schools and 4 evangelistic events in the biggest venues in Liloan and Compostela, and that’s just the beginning.

July 14 – Liloan Sports Complex – Team Xtreme
July 15 – Liloan Sports Complex – GX International
July 16 – Liloan Sports Complex – Island Breeze
July 16 – Compostela Gym – GX International

92 missionaries, performers and production crew will be on the road – travelling from one city to the next and all the small towns between, preaching the gospel and demonstrating God’s love for every person! More than 60 of those have travelled from all over the world to come and be with us during this time – because they know …  “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?  And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”  Romans 10:14-15

Over the next 4 weeks, using culture, sports and entertainment, we will present the Gospel in relevant ways so that thousands will hear the message in a format they can relate to and understand. I believe so many will respond to the prompting of the Holy Spirit surrendering their lives to Jesus their Saviour and Lord, RECEIVING NEW LIFE IN HIM! I just can’t wait!

Project Hope Village Update

Project Hope Village Update

During our Saturday seminar last June 11, 2016, we had a special celebration to raffle off the actual houses for the first 20 families.

IMG_1127

We had a special meal together and we also organized a bus to take the families to the site after they had picked their houses which was provided by the Bogo local government.

It was wonderful to see their smiles as they stood together in front of their homes….

Some even testified that the Lord answered their specific prayers because they got the very house they asked for.

One mother who has missed many Saturday because she now has a full time job with the city felt a strong urge that she couldn’t resist to go to the seminar that morning. She was so happy to realize she was present for the draw for her house. Through tears she said, “The Lord was the one who brought me here this morning!”

Hope Village — Project Hope

Hope Village — Project Hope

Restoring hope to 150 families who lost their homes in the super typhoon that ripped through the central part of the Philippines November 8, 2013. The storm, locally called YOLANDA and internationally known as Hai-yan, brought major devastation and significant loss of life.

Beyond the relief efforts and in partnership with the Bogo City governments ‘adopt-a-barangay-project’ Youth with a Mission Philippines has pledged with God to help provide housing for 150 families at a 2.2 hectares re-location site donated by the local government.

We are presently close to completion of phase 1 of our project and need your help as we finish the first 10 duplexes.
Should the Lord lead you to give at this time you will be joining with us in providing homes and a promising future for the first 20 beneficiaries families.

Our vision is to build not just houses but lives and a whole community that learns to love God, love their neighbor and who makes a positive impact in the world.

Our mobile brick machine purchased from a company in South Africa for $26,000 has given us the technology to engage the beneficiary families in the process of building and brick production for livelihood. Each Duplex costs approximately P350, 000 pesos (about $7,500 US. at the present exchange rate) and the structures are with potential for an extra loft providing an additional 14 sq.m. for each family. The houses are strong, fire resistant, and cool and won’t blow down in the next typhoon.

Each beneficiary’s family pledges 500 hours of volunteer labor in brick production as one of the conditions to qualify as recipients of the house. They also attend a Saturday morning seminar where they are learning about God’s love and growing in their faith.

Our vision is to build a whole community that loves God, loves their neighbors and makes a positive impact in the world.

Please pray about what you can do to help give renewed hope to families who lost everything. You can make a difference right now in a big or small way. Partner with us and your giving can bring a lasting future of hope filled living!

Youth With A Mission is an international, interdenominational missions organization whose main focus is to know God and make him known. Every YWAM location embraces our three-prong approach of evangelism, training and mercy ministries. YWAM’s thrust is to take the Gospel to the every’s and all’s of the Great Commission in partnership with the Body of Christ and in obedience to Christ’s command to reach and disciple all nations.

YWAM started in 1960 after its founder Loren Cunnigham saw a vision of waves at the age of 21, here is his testimony, “Suddenly I was looking at a map of the world, only the map was alive and moving! I could see all the continents, and waves were crashing onto their shores. Each wave went onto a continent, then receded, then came up further until it covered the continent completely. The waves become young people–kids my age and even younger–covering all the continents of the globe. They were talking to people on street corners and outside bars. They were going from house to house and preaching the Gospel. They came from everywhere and went everywhere, caring for people. Then just as suddenly as it had come the scene was gone.”

Today that vision is a reality with 1,100 YWAM training locations in over 180 countries of the world. YWAM also has over 18,000 full time volunteer staff from over 130 countries and has literally gone to every nation of earth.

YWAM’s waves hit the shores of the Philippines in 1971 and has continued to grow in its impact to this day. Now with over 42 locations and almost 300 volunteer staff Nation-wide, YWAM is touching the lives of Filipinos with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

On November 8, 2013 the strongest typhoon to ever make landfall hit the central part of the Philippines affecting 4 provinces, 10,436 barangays in 575 municipalities. Typhoon Yolanda internationally known as Hai-yan with winds of 235 kph and gusts of 275 kph ripped off roofs, collapsed buildings, shattered windows, destroyed livelihood and reeked havoc.

In the aftermath, US Aid reported 16 million people affected, 6,300 plus deaths, 4.1 million people displaced, 1.1 million houses damaged or destroyed and 5.9 million people without jobs.

YWAM Philippines responded just days after the storm smashed into Tacloban City. Teams were dispatched to help with removing bodies, relief work, rebuilding and listening to broken hearts while speaking God’s love to the grief stricken locals. Teams initially responded to 9 locations with tag teams saturating the areas of devastation. It became clear that the Lord was directing YWAM Philippines to focus on long term rebuilding by establishing permanent locations in key cities throughout the affected area.

New Ministry:

Pastor’s Seminar– This was a very powerful time of bringing refreshment and strengthening pastors. This is a ministry we are planning to have again in 2016 as we saw such tremendous breakthrough among the pastors.

Testimonies:

Annalyn Tanalla is a single mother of 6 children. She faithfully attends our Bible study and feeding program. The Bible study has especially had a big impact on her life. She has come to put her trust in God. She continues to learn how much God cares for her and how he will continue to faithfully meet her needs and the needs of her 6 children. Two of Annalyn’s children, twins, are attending our weekly feeding program and are learning a lot of who God is in their lives.

Myra Duo attends our Family Ministry Bible Study and has 5 children. Through this ministry she recently received the Lord and has been baptized. When she first joined our Family Ministry Bible Study a year ago, her husband had just left her and the family to be with another woman. One week after Myra was baptized her husband returned, asked for forgiveness and to be part of their family again. Myra accepted him again mostly because she had experience God’s love and felt led to express God’s forgiveness to her husband. She came to this decision through the counseling of the Family Ministry Staff.

Prayer Points:

  • Pray for the October DTS as they go on outreach that God would lead them and provide for all their needs.
  • Pray for the Balut Mercy Ministries that they would make a greater impact in the community and help more people be released from poverty.
  • Pray for our staff that God will provide for their staff fees and personal needs.

How to Get Involved:

  1. Through giving online at www.ywambalut.com
