11224764_10153210390186330_5765206248726579175_n“I would like to share to you a couple of my highlights during my Internship last year at Cebu House of Prayer. Before I applied, I already had a desire in my heart to dig deeper into God’s Word and to strengthen my commitment in fasting but I didn’t have enough time or I didn’t see it as that important, or I just didn’t know how. I admit that I could be very casual with my prayers sometimes and it plays to be the last resort when it doesn’t work that way in God’s kingdom. All people can pray but not all can fast. Or worst, people don’t like to pray so how much more with fasting? It is the most neglected part of most believers when it should be the normal lifestyle of being a Christian. I am very thankful that God heard my desire to know Him more and to strengthen my walk with Him. He paved the way for me and I was accepted as a Forerunner Intern at Cebu House of Prayer and I’ve seen my growth drastically. Even my parents and those people surrounding me have noticed it. God changed my life and I’m thankful for the staff who did their best to help us through our new season. We were taught on how to meditate effectively and we have certain scriptures in a day and we journal everything that the Holy Spirit reveals to us. Through that, our skill in hearing God’s voice was developed all the more. Everybody in the prayer room values a fasted lifestyle because even Jesus Himself fasted. He is the greatest example. It was only in the prayer room that I learned the different types of fasting, the do’s and dont’s – and it’s not a diet. And I really respect and follow these people because they’ve done it for so many years, doing it from 1-40 days of fasting. And remember I already have that desire to grow in that area and they have helped me a lot. I enjoy fasting now more than ever! It is something that I really look forward to because it teaches you to be humble and requires your willingness to receive more of the Spirit. God is raising up Mary’s in this season who would just sit at Jesus’ feet listening to Him, Anna’s who would stay in the temple fasting and praying, David’s who are worshiping warriors and John the Baptists who will be the voice of this generation to prepare the way of the Lord. If God is calling you to be like Mary, Anna, David or John the Baptist, I encourage you to pray about our internship this coming September and be a part of us. This is not our ministry or movement, but this is what God is trumpeting to all the churches to partner with Him. We have a lot of scheduled activities in a day during our internship so you will never get bored. You will enjoy it very much, I assure you. Different speakers are also invited and one topic that still re-echoes to my soul is our Bridal Identity. We are not only the sons and daughters of Christ but we are also His bride and He will come to marry us soon. I enjoyed the book of Song of Solomon all the more and understood that it talks about our walk as the Bride of Christ. Again, if you want to be trained and equipped with God’s word all the more. Pray about this and be a part of our community. God bless!

The combined pastors ministerial goal for this year in this island is to see 100,000 new disciples – we are part of that – making a difference in Cebu. Challenging the church to move away from apathy and complacency and join those reaching out and discipling this nation.

Monday is the start of the 4-week evangelistic tour of Northern Cebu.  Just in the coming week we will have many evangelistic outreaches in the schools and 4 evangelistic events in the biggest venues in Liloan and Compostela, and that’s just the beginning.

July 14 – Liloan Sports Complex – Team Xtreme
July 15 – Liloan Sports Complex – GX International
July 16 – Liloan Sports Complex – Island Breeze
July 16 – Compostela Gym – GX International

92 missionaries, performers and production crew will be on the road – travelling from one city to the next and all the small towns between, preaching the gospel and demonstrating God’s love for every person! More than 60 of those have travelled from all over the world to come and be with us during this time – because they know …  “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?  And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”  Romans 10:14-15

Over the next 4 weeks, using culture, sports and entertainment, we will present the Gospel in relevant ways so that thousands will hear the message in a format they can relate to and understand. I believe so many will respond to the prompting of the Holy Spirit surrendering their lives to Jesus their Saviour and Lord, RECEIVING NEW LIFE IN HIM! I just can’t wait!

Project Hope Village Update

Project Hope Village Update

During our Saturday seminar last June 11, 2016, we had a special celebration to raffle off the actual houses for the first 20 families.

IMG_1127

We had a special meal together and we also organized a bus to take the families to the site after they had picked their houses which was provided by the Bogo local government.

IMG_1185

It was wonderful to see their smiles as they stood together in front of their homes….

Some even testified that the Lord answered their specific prayers because they got the very house they asked for.

One mother who has missed many Saturday because she now has a full time job with the city felt a strong urge that she couldn’t resist to go to the seminar that morning. She was so happy to realize she was present for the draw for her house. Through tears she said, “The Lord was the one who brought me here this morning!”

YWAM Balut Update- December 2015

YWAM Balut Update- December 2015

Highlights:

  • DTS Graduation of 7 students. Three of the students have decided to join as staff!
  • Six weeks live in Pastor’s Seminar from August to September. Twelve live in Pastors with 4-6 walk in participants.
  • October 2015 DTS begins with 11 students and 4 children.

New Ministry:

Pastor’s Seminar– This was a very powerful time of bringing refreshment and strengthening pastors. This is a ministry we are planning to have again in 2016 as we saw such tremendous breakthrough among the pastors.

Testimonies:

Annalyn Tanalla is a single mother of 6 children. She faithfully attends our Bible study and feeding program. The Bible study has especially had a big impact on her life. She has come to put her trust in God. She continues to learn how much God cares for her and how he will continue to faithfully meet her needs and the needs of her 6 children. Two of Annalyn’s children, twins, are attending our weekly feeding program and are learning a lot of who God is in their lives.

Myra Duo attends our Family Ministry Bible Study and has 5 children. Through this ministry she recently received the Lord and has been baptized. When she first joined our Family Ministry Bible Study a year ago, her husband had just left her and the family to be with another woman. One week after Myra was baptized her husband returned, asked for forgiveness and to be part of their family again. Myra accepted him again mostly because she had experience God’s love and felt led to express God’s forgiveness to her husband. She came to this decision through the counseling of the Family Ministry Staff.

Prayer Points:

  • Pray for the October DTS as they go on outreach that God would lead them and provide for all their needs.
  • Pray for the Balut Mercy Ministries that they would make a greater impact in the community and help more people be released from poverty.
  • Pray for our staff that God will provide for their staff fees and personal needs.

How to Get Involved:

  1. Through giving online at www.ywambalut.com
  2. Volunteer for a short time! We have endless ministry opportunities working along side existing ministries of YWAM Balut. We also have opportunities in administration.

YWAM Palawan Update- December 2015

YWAM Palawan Update- December 2015

YWAM Puerto Princesa City, Palawan

YWAM PPC, Palawan serves people living in the city dump site, prison inmates and employees, and several tribal communities. This is done through regular visits, student sponsorship and by running a Tagalog DTS once a year in the tribes.

palawan

Discipleship Training School:
Although this DTS was intended for tribal communities, it has become a DTS recommended for any Filipino who can communicate in Tagalog. Five students from the tribes and two students from other communities recently graduated last October. The lecture phase is at our tribal base while the outreach this year served many tribal communities, including that of other YWAM frontier work as well as our prison ministry. This Tribal/Tagalog DTS is usually from May to October each year.

Student Sponsorship:

palawan2

palawan1
We are glad to have our first college graduate from our dump site community. Christian graduated BS in Criminology and just finished taking his Board Exam and PASSED! We have six college students, four from our tribal communities,  staying in the house and fully supported by our program. We also support another ten students in the tribe but they do not stay with us.

Prison Ministry:
There are five national prison in Puerto Princesa City, all under Iwahig Prison systems. We regularly minister at the Iwahig Central, one Sunday a month and whenever we have visiting teams. Every time we visit, we provide every aspect of the Sunday service both at the church building, where inmates and employees worship together, then to one or two other higher security barracks. We are welcomed to minister at all five colonies but we don’t have enough manpower at the moment.

Opportunities for involvement:

  • Visits us! This gives us a chance to mutually encourage and physically be there and pray with and for each other.
  • Tell people about us! The more people know about us and the work we are doing, the more prayer support and partners we can get. So please tell your friends, church or relatives about us.
  • Intercede for us. We need all the prayers we can get to continue to expand God’s kingdom here in Palawan.
  • Support us Financially

Ways to Give:

1. Online – You may give here http://ushare.unionbankph.com/ywam This allows you to specify the base and ministry or staff you would like to give to.
